‘Fin de Siècle’ (end of the century) is a period instrument string quartet, which focuses on repertoire of 19th and early 20th century composers. By performing on gut strings, which was common until after 1945, the quartet explores an especially evocative palette of colors and possibilities. This wonderful chamber program, actually concentrates on repertory penned in 1893, the year the current building of The First Church was built! – Closing our 11th season and 333rd Anniversary with this program of music from the “era” of this architectural wonder, will be an aural treat for an early summer afternoon.
